Internet browsers have many benefits, and Google Chrome has been proven one of the most reliable browsers for frequent users. Also impressive for those new to the internet, Chrome is beginner-friendly and contains some amazing features.

Of course, the reason that so many people are excited about Google Chrome is its amazing speed. Basically, it rivals Safari and is noticeably faster at loading images. Not only that, but running multiple applications improves dramatically with this browser.

Error codes can be abundant in some browsers. Everyone knows that. However, Google Chrome seems to handle these quickly and efficiently, and by refreshing the page, most errors can be taken care of. In addition to this, Google Chrome has an “incognito” mode that does not leave your activity in the history bar. Cookies are not linked to your activity either, so this is excellent for use in public computers or in places that do not welcome spam and pop-ups.

Chrome is easy to learn. It requires no additional knowledge other than any other basic browser, but the perks seem endless. The way it bookmarks favorite pages and frequently visited sites is much clearer than other browsers. Pages appear with thumbnail pictures, and these allow users to easily see where they have been and what their first internet priorities might be.

On the side, Google Chrome also offers a task manager option, where users can see memory options as well as other stats on their browsing history. Networking resources can also be viewed and people can see which processes are actively running at the time. Overall, Chrome is a clean, simple browsing version that anyone can use.

Firefox, an internet browser, is well-liked for many reasons. Easy accessibility, beginner-friendly elements, and useful features make it one of the most reliable tools for the internet.

Most of the included items in Firefox are typical for web browsers. First, tabbed browsing makes it possible to view multiple windows at once. Simply by clicking an additional “tab” at the top of the screen, users can keep current items at hand while moving on to new projects and information. This is helpful for those who are completing projects or choosing between two items online. Direct comparisons can be made and key points can be fused easily.

Locating information has never been easier. With Firefox, typing ctrl+k can bring up a search bar immediately. Also, right clicking on a highlighted word generates a search as well. Users can find definitions, answers to questions, or pertinent information in a snap. Or one click to be exact.

Image Location: http://computerlcd.org/Magician_Economic_Computer_19_LCD.jpg

Firefox makes downloads easy through a tool called background downloading. Basically, items that are to be downloaded begin immediately, and by the time users save them to disk, they are already finished. Firefox is quick when it comes to putting information on the computer. Usually, it takes just as much time to choose where to store the information as it does to actually download it.

One last important element of Firefox is this: it’s largely successful due to those who use it. Improvements are made through user’s suggestions, and anyone is able to communicate with the Firefox team leaders. Source codes are readily available at all times.

Although Internet Explorer is an extremely popular choice for browsing online, many people do not realize the disadvantages it carries as well. Its speed, tabbed browsing options, and spyware can be undesirable traits for many users.

Although Internet Explorer may be decently quick, its rivals such as Firefox and Google Chrome are much faster. Downloading items at only half the speed, Explorer has fallen behind when it comes to the race. Most people are surprised to find that there is a noticeable difference between these browsers.

Tabbed browsing is available with Internet Explorer; however, more options are available on other browsers. There are actually limitations on what users can do with their tabbed items. A small handful of choices are sufficient, but if more options are desired, the other browsers may be the way to go. Also, some people argue that since Explorers tabs are already on the screen, this cuts in on screen space altogether. Pictures and available information may be left off the screen unless users move the cursors at the bottom of the page.

The search bar in the top, right-hand corner of the screen is usually not used in Explorer. Again, some declare this another waste of screen space. Most users go through Google for all of their searching, so the small Live Search bar is rendered useless.

Spyware runs rampant on Internet Explorer. Cookies for following user’s activities are often left behind, and personal information can be gathered. Arguably, Explorer is susceptible to more viruses and spyware due to its age as well as unused pop-up blockers. The ability to turn them off makes computers vulnerable.

Internet Explorer has been losing potential users for a number of years now. In an effort to keep their users they have offered a new Internet Explorer version 9. It is believed that this version will include everything that users want and need in a web browser.

Here’s a look at some of the great features Internet Explore 9 offers web browser users.

Cleaner Appearance

Internet Explorer 9 gives internet users a cleaner web browsing experience. Tabs, buttons and other items are all moved into one row instead of cluttered all over the screen.

The Ability to Pin Tabs

Internet Explorer 9 has a tab pinning option. This means if you have a tab that you visit a lot or need to keep referencing you can pin it so it doesn’t move down the list. Also included in the tab pinning option is the ability to pull up a row of all tabs so you can see each window and tab in real time and flip back and forth to it.

Fasted Web Browser

Internet Explorer 9 is the fastest web browser on the market. It loads JavaScript quickly and it pulls up windows faster than any other browser. Internet users always complained about the time it took to load Internet Explorer and that is gone with this version.

Isolated Tabs

Internet users can choose to run certain tabs as an isolated function. This will prevent browser crashes and other problems that can come from running too many tabs at one time.

With all these advantages Internet Explorer might have just jumped to the head of the game in terms of popular web browsers.

When a web browser like Firefox update itself it can be expected that there will be tons of complaints. Internet users are creatures of habit and do not adapt well to change. So when Firefox 4 was rolled out a month and half ago, experts braced for a slew of complaints from longtime Firefox users. The good news is there were relatively few complaints.

Here’s a look at some of the disadvantages or complaints Firefox 4 users had after downloading the latest version of this web browser.

Not Compatible With Some Add-Ons

Image via Wikipedia

The latest Firefox version is not compatible with some add-ons. While this wouldn’t be a problem for those that don’t use the add-ons it can be problematic for those that regularly use some of these popular add-ons. Add-ons that are not compatible with Firefox 4 include Delicious Bookmarks, RealPlayer Browser Record and NoScript.

This add-on issue is probably a temporary problem as most add-ons will update to so it is compatible with Firefox 4.

Address Bar Copying

Firefox has offered computer users the chance to copy web addresses by pressing the F6 button. However, Firefox 4 does not have this option. Instead, Firefox users are forced to use the mouse and copy and paste the web address they wish to use.

After eight months in the beta stage it is no surprise that there are relatively few complaints and problems with the Firefox 4 web browser and that there are more advantages than disadvantages for the web browser. The majority of the problems are superficial or ones that will be easily fixed in a matter of months.

Over 4.7 million computer users have downloaded the new Firefox 4 browser. After nearly a year of beta testing the browser, tech savvy computer users already know the many changes that come with the Firefox 4 browser. However, less tech savvy computer users might be wondering why they should switch their old 3.0 version to a 4.0 version.

For those computer users who have not been obsessing over the beta version of Firefox 4, here’s a look at some of the great features that come with this new update for one of the most popular web browsers on the web.

A Merged Top Tab

Image via CrunchBase

Previous versions of Firefox had the top tab all spread out. The Firefox 4 has a compact, merged top tab. This means all the functions such as file, edit and tools are now under one button and not spread out over the top of the screen.

Crash Protection

It used to be if a plug-in or other website element caused your browser to crash you would have to shut the whole browser down or your window would completely disappear. With the crash protection feature on Firefox 4 the plug-in or website that is causing the crash is frozen and your browser will not be effected at all.

Increased Speed

Firefox 4 brings an increased web browsing experience. Internet users will be able to pull up websites and open new tabs with a speed that other Firefox versions did not have. Java has also been sped up and Java downloads happen quicker with Firefox 4.

With all these advantages it’s no wonder 4.7 million people have switched to Firefox 4 already.

It’s an agreed-upon notion that addictions typically involve several key aspects. One is that the activity at hand is pleasurable for the individual who engages in it, at least initially. As time goes on, even addicts don’t really find all that much pleasure in doing what they’re addicted to—it’s just that it’s become habit. And habits are hard to break. The activity must be easily repeatable. For example, it’s hard to get addicted to flying to the moon, simply because that’s not something easily repeated.

Gambling online can become an addictive pastime. That’s because sports betting sites are fun for a person with a wagering mentality, and it’s something that’s easily repeatable. So much so, that it’s possible to be managing several wagers simultaneously, handling them all from one web-enabled computer. When it gets to that point, the afflicted person is clearly addicted. But avoiding a gambling addiction doesn’t have to be extremely challenging. If you’re worried that your recreational habit is turning into an addiction that’s spiraling out of control, there is action to be taken.

Realize that many other things in life bring you the sensation of “fun.” Go engage in those other activities frequently, so you haven’t got just one source of pleasure in the world. Set limits on how much time you’re allowed to spend in front of your computer. Since sports betting sites operate best on high speed computers with accelerated graphics cards, be sure to limit the repeatability aspect of your burgeoning habit. Set a rule to only gamble once a week. Setting firm guidelines should help to keep a hobby from turning into an addiction.

While it may be nice to pull a computer out of the box and get right to the matter at hand using all the pre-installed programs, it is wise to know just which of these programs you want to use and when you might want to consider other options.

One example of this is the Internet browser. Nearly all computers come with Internet Explorer installed on them, and since it is a necessary program in order to be able to get Microsoft updates, it is nice that it is present. However, it does not have to be your default browser.

There are many other options available. Mozilla’s Firefox is one that is rather popular, in part because it has numerous add-ons to personalize your browsing experience. Firefox 4 is available to download at www.mozilla.com. You can also browse their add-ons there and choose from about 5,000 different ones.

A relative newcomer to the scene is Google Chrome. A free download for this web browser is at www.google.com/chrome. This browser was designed for efficiency and has been kept simple and easy to use. They have a number of included features as well as many add-ons.

A lesser-known browser is Opera. The newest version, 11.1 is very fast and has an amazing number of built-in features. One feature is especially worth mentioning – you can browse in private. Check it out at www.opera.com/browser.

There are actually more than a dozen different browsers available. Take some time to research the strengths and weaknesses of each one to find what makes sense for you.

More and more people are choosing to receive their education through online schools instead of attending brick-and-mortar colleges. In the past few years, the number of online college students has almost doubled what it was in the past. This has led many people to wonder why online educational programs like those found on earnmydegree.com have become so popular over the years. Here’s a look at some of the most common reasons why people are making the decision to obtain their education online.

Flexible Course Schedule

Online colleges offer students the ability to customize their course schedules to fit their needs. This allows them to keep their jobs or gain an education while their children are asleep. The flexible nature of online colleges is one of the most commonly cited reasons why people are choosing to attend classes there.

No Commute

Depending on where students live, the nearest college could be hours away. Many students are choosing online colleges because they can avoid the long commute to school. Instead of having to spend hours in a car, online students can attend classes anywhere there is access to a computer.

Choice of Classes/Pace of Classes

Online colleges offer students a vast range of classes to choose from and also offer them to the chance to pace themselves. This allows students to learn what they want and at a comfortable pace for them.

Huge Savings

The cost of brick-and-mortar college tuition is on the rise. Many students choose online colleges because the tuition is cheaper than what brick-and-mortar colleges are offering. Students get the same education at a cheaper price.

Internet Explorer is doing all it can to keep up with the other browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox who are quickly gaining market share. As one of the original browsers, Internet Explorer has been around for a long time, but the newer ones seem to be coming out with bigger and better products.

The release of Internet Explorer 9 is the latest and greatest though. There are some new features that are bringing it a step closer to its competition. These include a new interface, better performance, and it is integrated with Windows 7.

To start, the new interface has a very streamlined look. There is no longer all the toolbars that take up half the page. All the navigation buttons that will be used the most are all on one line. You can choose the size of the address box if you don’t want it to go all the way across the page.

The performance of Internet Explorer is also greatly improved. It even has games you can play to test the performance. Just click on the Test Drive page and it will bring you to mini games and some videos.

Microsoft has made it easier to jump to certain pages of websites that you navigate to often with this new realease. For example you can drag the URL for Facebook or Pandora to your taskbar. This will keep a shortcut there with a list that will allow you to jump to certain pages within the website. When you open it up, it will open in a new window.

There is also a new window you can use to keep track of your downloads. Firefox users who like this feature will appreciate this tweak. Another new feature is the ability to click and drag a tab into a new window. It will allow yo to do this without restarting anything you may be in the middle of such as a video.

When you check out the prices for replacing your computer battery, you might be tempted to just get another computer instead. The prices seem astronomical for what you are getting. The good news is that with a bit of proactive battery management, you can extend the life of your battery so you can go a long time without needing to replace it.

Laptop batteries require a bit of care if you want them to last. But it’s not hard. Most of your proactive steps are practical. When your laptop is plugged into a wall and your battery is fully charged, take the battery out. This will prevent it from overcharging and from overheating. If you are on battery power without any electric input, let the battery completely run down, even if you move back to an area with electricity. This reduces the amount of recharges for your battery.

Another method you might want to consider when using laptop batteries is to switch your computer from standby mode to the hibernate mode. This is a minor inconvenience when you come back to use your laptop since it will take a few more seconds to show the screen, but it benefits you in the long run when you don’t have to constantly run out spending hard-earned money and time to replace a battery that died before its time.

Keeping your computer cool is another trick for extending your battery life. When the battery gets hot, it has to work harder. Keep the computer cool with fans and by placing it on tables and desks rather than couches and beds.

Internet TV is one of the next up and coming technologies. Google, one of the front runners, is working on marketing this idea and mainstreaming it. The concept of internet based TV is still relatively new, and not without its problems and concerns, but as with any new technology, there are always bumps in the road.

Google TV combines the all the things you do on the internet with all of the things you do on the television. You can download apps, surf the internet, search for TV programs, and even watch tv and be on the internet simultaneously. Google TV also allows you to use your phone as the remote.

While the idea of moving the internet to your TV seems like the next natural step, there have been some problems. The major TV networks are not allowing Google to have access to their shows. At this time, users can not watch full-length programs from NBC, CBS, or ABC. This is not to say that there is no TV on Google TV. There are some cable networks who are allowing content both new and old.

There are other applications that are fun for internet TV though, such as seeing YouTube videos on the big screen, and seeing your own pictures and videos. Many experts have the feeling that the mainstream networks are going to have to jump on the internet TV bandwagon. It is most likely the future of TV so they are gong to have to learn ways to make it work to their advantage.

The concept is new and it has a long way to go before everyone is on board, but someone needs to start somewhere. With time, internet TV will probably be in every home just like most every home has a personal computer or a laptop. With each release, and each company that jumps in, the technology will just keep getting better.

Bingo is a hugely popular game, which can be played around the world. From specialized bingo clubs to bingo nights in bars and restaurants, everyone has a chance to get involved in a game, which is both fun and relaxing. It is a game of chance, which offers excitement and enjoyment to every player. It’s no wonder the popularity of online bingo is shooting up too!

Online bingo allows you to experience all the fun and excitement of bingo, but from your own computer. It’s easy to learn how to play, and you can choose when you play and how long you’ll play for. If you have to leave during a game, you can even leave the game to complete automatically.

Increasing your chances of winning is difficult, as bingo is a game of luck and chance, and the result cannot be influenced. You can do a few things to maximize your chances of winning. One would be to join bingo sites, which offer good joining bonuses. This could be anything from free money to play with, or free games to enter.

Second, watch which bingo rooms you participate in playing. You’ve got a much bigger chance of winning in a room with a small or moderate amount of players compared to popular rooms with hundreds of players. When a room becomes too full, move on to another emptier room.

Talk to other bingo players. Most bingo sites have a chat-room facility, which allows you to talk while you play. Making friends with other regular players will help you to find out about upcoming events or good join-up bonuses at other sites. Try to keep your talking to a minimum though while waiting for a game to start. You don’t want to be distracted from a game in progress.

Online bingo is a great way to relax and have fun, and find friends too!

Google Chrome is the latest and greatest in web browsing. It has not only added another layer of competition to the industry, but it has also pushed established web browsers like Firefox to step it up a little.

Chrome has several features that are an advantage to its users. It is very efficient, and moves very quickly. Since there is not a local program that needs to load up, Chrome will be up within seconds of the click of the mouse. It is designed to be light weight and not take up a lot of memory since all activities will be done online. All the data from users will not be saved on the computer, but on servers so it will not use up memory.

Although Google Chrome is good and growing into one of the most use browsers by web surfers, it does have some shortcomings. While one of the advantages of Google Chrome is that it is all web based, this could also be one of its initial downfalls. Users will need to have access at any time to the internet in order to take advantage of Chrome. It will also require users to have an extremely reliable internet provider with high speed access. Without this they will not be able to run some of the applications or to perform more than one task at a time. This is in contrast to traditional browsers that allow both online and offline functionality at the same time.

At this time it is still unknown whether or not the new Google Chrome will match traditional applications. Those who are technically savvy will undoubtedly be able to take full advantage of it, but it may be a little slow going for those who are just run of the mill internet users. The area where Chrome may shine is on netbooks and on laptops since they are designed to run on web based applications.

Using your blog or website to make money is an excellent way to supplement your income. Promoting products on your website can earn you big sales commissions if done properly; however, there are some common mistakes that must be avoided to ensure success. Do not expect to make money overnight. The second most common mistake is failing to thoroughly research the top affiliate marketing programs. Third, is failing to find a marketer that fits your niche.

Be patient is rule number one for affiliate marketing. Once you set up your website to sell a product it is unrealistic to expect the money to start rolling in. Establishing a steady source of revenue is going to take time and you will need to work hard to try and drive up your web traffic. The more people who come to your site, the more potential buyers there are for the products you are helping promote.

Rule number two is to thoroughly research affiliate programs before forming any alliances. An affiliate review can be conducted easily online. Search out sites that evaluate the top programs and list their strengths and weaknesses. The affiliate reviews will also help you figure out which of the marketing companies pay the biggest commissions.

When you conduct your affiliate review make sure the company is a good fit with the subject material on your blog or website. The third mistake to avoid is promoting products that don’t match the visitors to your site. This means that you must find complimentary products and services to be able to maximize sales. It makes no sense to link to a car parts supplier on a bicycle blog, or to include ads for jewelry on your freelance writing website. However, it would make perfect sense to provide car sales or car reviews on a web page that focuses on auto repair.

We are seeing information about the release of several new and updated versions of internet browsers. Internet Explorer is coming out with IE9, there is a new Google Chrome, and Firefox is working on Firefox 4. So if they all do basically the same thing; opening websites, allow you to check email, access to social networking, and all other basic internet functions, does it really matter which one you use?

The answer to that really depends on who you are and what type of internet user you are. If you think about how much time you spend on the internet it could really make a difference. For example, if you spend at least 4 hours a day browsing on the internet, if you choose a browser that is faster, you could save almost 30 minutes a day with a quicker browser.

It is important to keep in mind what you will be using the browser for before you make a choice. There are some applications that work better on some than others. For example, if you use Gmail or other Google based applications, your experience will probably be better if you use Chrome. If you like to personalize your browser, Firefox has many add ons that will let you do this.

Security is also a big issue. Each browser has a different way of providing security measures. There are some with filters for malware and phishing sites built right in. It is always a good idea to check out how the security features work before making a choice. If you do a lot of online transactions this is extremely important, so you should make sure you are protected.

It may take some trial and error before you find the browser that works best for you. The good news is that they are all free so you can try them out without much of a risk.

Microsoft recently released their latest version of Internet Explorer. IE9 has some good new qualities along with some shortcomings. There have been some reports on what is good about this new version and some articles about where it is lacking, but here is a quick look at both the advantages and the disadvantages all in one place.

Advantages

One of the biggest advantages to the new version of Internet Explorer is it is easy to use. The redesigned interface is much more user friendly. Users now see more content as opposed to status bars and the toolbars that are normally taking up the page. They have also increased the speed in the most recent release, which was necessary to keep up with Google Chrome and with Firefox. You will also see a warning if you install an add on that will slow down your browser. This is a good feature which may change some minds about what they are adding. Another advantage to the new Internet Explorer is the ability to add websites that you go to frequently right to the task bar for easy access. One of the bigger advantages to IE9 is that it will support HTML5. This is important because HTML5 the the future of interactive viewing. It will allow vidoes to be played without having to use plug-ins.

Disadvantages

There seem to be more advantages than disadvantages with the new Internet Explorer. The new look may take some getting used to and users will have to relearn how to navigate around. Other browsers also play HD videos with a better quality.

The overall impression of IE9 is that it is much better than previous versions and has come a long way. It has some tough competition though, so we will have to wait and see how it really compares.

For those who are unaware of how FileZilla works, here is a complete guide which would teach them how to download FileZilla and use this amazing software. First of all, you need to understand what FileZilla is. This is a FTP program that allows people to transfer files over a secure network connection on the internet, and because the transfer takes place over a secure network connection, the chances of viruses and errors are completely reduced. Another very important thing about FileZilla is that it is open source, which means that it can be downloaded for free and can be used by anyone.

In order to download this software you first need to visit the web page. There, located the FileZilla download link and wait as the download initiates. Wait till the download has completed, after which you must install this software. FileZilla is a pair of programs, which means that there is a Server as well as a FTP client, and both of them are required if you wish to transfer files over the FileZilla network.

Once you have downloaded FileZilla as well as the other file and installed them, you can easily begin using FileZilla. The ease with which this software runs is enviable, and you would easily be able to adapt to it. If you are looking for a file, you can simply type it and find it out in the ‘search’ bar. And, if you wish to download it in another language, it is available in other languages too.

Keeping our computers safe, our identities safe and our children safe is a big issue for most internet users. Firefox has several features to help you do this as you browse the internet. Firefox, like other web browsers is always evolving and changing to make your experience better, but here aer some of the security features that are already in place.

Anti-Malware. If you click on a website that wants to attack your computer, Firefox will block you and give you a warning about the site. This, along with you being aware and careful about what you click on will help to keep you safe.

Web Site ID. If you want to make a purchase from a site that you are not familiar with, and are wondering if it is legitimate, you can have Firefox give it an overview. You can check on websites you think might be suspicious and find out if a website is what is it claiming to be.

Forget This Site. This is a feature that will allow you to remove any trace of a website from your computer. If you clicked on something and then wished you hadn’t, have make it seem like it never happened.

Parental Controls. Set the parental controls that you want.

Detect Plug-ins that are outdated. Plug-ins can be added to your computer when you need to view a video or play a game. If a plug-in has become outdated, it can be the cause of a security risk. Firefox will let you know if you have an outdated plug-in and then tell you where to go to updated it.

Set Your Own Security. You can go in an set your security to the level that you want. If you visit sights often that you know are safe, you can have Firefox make exceptions for these sites. You can also increase security as well if you want extra protection.

The internet browsers have been battling it out for years. With every new release each browser says they have the newest and best technology. Since a browser is used for many more things than just browsing the web, there are quite a few things to take into consideration as you decide which one works for you.

Here are some good reasons why many people are turning to Google Chrome as their main source of web browsing.

It is faster than all the others. It is faster in terms of loading up pages, opening the browser initially, and when you are opening and closing tabs. Some may try to dispute this, but with the newest version there is really no reason to try any more.

Tabbed browsing that shows more of every web page. Chrome does not waste valuable screen space with unnecessary items. It makes full use of all the room you have so you can see more of everything you open.

Compatibility with other Google Products. For those of us who use several other Google products such as gmail, Google docs, the calendar, and even the Google Reader, the whole experience is just much better with Google Chrome.

Bookmark Sync. This type of feature is not just offered by Google, but their version works very well. You can easily save your preferences, bookmarks, and other settings to your Google account so when you open up your browsers on another computer it will look the same.

Google Chrome Web Store. Although there are some critics of the web store, but it is a great place to find extensions, games, and apps that may come in handy as you use Chrome. Again, this is not something that just Google offers, Firefox has a similar set up with their add on’s. but this store has some great stuff for your browsing.

Creating and using bookmarks is a way to make finding the websites you like and want to use frequently easy to find. Once you have set them up, you can easily navigate to them with just a click of the mouse. There are a few ways you can go about creating a bookmark.

First you can just click on the star icon in the address bar when you are on a page that you want to bookmark. The bookmark for that page is then added to the bookmarks bar right in your browser. When you want to open the page all you need to do is click the bookmark and you will be brought right to the page you set.

You can also customize your bookmark settings. To do this you need to uses the dialog box that opens when you click on the star icon to set a bookmark. You can name the page you are bookmarking so you recognize why you wanted to save it. You can also change the location of where the bookmark is placed. If you don’t change the location, it will automatically be placed in a folder with your most recently bookmarked pages. Keep in mind that a bookmark can only be in one folder at a time.

You can remove bookmarks as well. If you created one by accident, or if you no longer want easy access to the page, you can just click on Remove and the bookmark will be deleted.

You can also click on Edit if you want to change the URL of the page you bookmarked. Once you have completed your change, just click on Close and the bookmark will be added to your folder.

The popularity of casino websites online is constantly growing as more and more people realize the benefits of playing casino games online. One of the most important things for you to consider before you get started, however, is whether your computer is going to need to be capable of supporting the graphics and the programming involved in running the casino website. It may be possible that your computer will not be able to handle all of the modern day casino software, and so you must give some consideration to system requirements and your own system capabilities before you sign up for a site that your computer is not going to be able to handle.

In most cases, you are going to need to have an updated operating system on your computer in order to effectively download and install the software and play at online casino websites. It is important for you to make sure that your computer has been optimized for the best possible performance. When you begin the sign up process for an online casino, you can look for the system requirements on the website to determine whether or not your computer is going to compare.

Once you determine that your computer is capable of handling the casino website that you are most interested in, you can start reading about the sign up process and the benefits that come with signing up. Keep in mind that all casino websites offer sign up benefits and bonuses, but they can vary significantly from site to site. It is important for you to consider all of the options that are available to you before you sign up for an online casino, since some may offer better sign up bonuses in comparison to others. You should also consider that sign up bonuses can change, and what is a good deal today may not be the best deal a week from now.

The release of Google Chrome a few years ago caused many people to wonder why they felt the need to come up with a new browser. Once they started using it though, they realized it had many benefits. Among the many benefits of Chrome is the specialized Javascript engine of its own and beefed up security. This browser also plans to have a large effect on Search Engine Optimization.

One of the features of Chrome is that if a website uses the right key words that rank well among users it will suggest that users go to it. This feature, called Google Suggest will base its suggestions on sites that have been visited in the past, and other websites that are popular among users.

Along with the release of the web browser Google has also released several tools to assist those who are concerned with SEO. There are several extentions that will provide information about how a website is doing. With the click of a button you can see how your website ranks on social media sights, and other search engines. The benefit of many of these tools is that they are instant. You don’t have to wait for reports, the information is only a click away.

Chrome also has a tool called Google Chrome SEO Extension. This tool can help website owners with an analysis of the competition, researching keywords, and gives them a way to check on the page rankings.

Although it took them a little while to get in the game, Google Chrome has quickly become one of the most used broswers on the internet.

Since its release in 2008, Google Chrome has quickly become one of the most used browers by internet users. For many it is just a good user friendly brower, but for many others the tools it offers for SEO make it their only choice. Just like other browsers the extra’s often make the difference.

Some of the tools that make it usefull are:

MozBar. This is an extension that has been around a while with Firefox, and now the company has made a version for Chrome. From this extention you can access metrics for both links and domains and access the SERP overlay. This handy toolbar can be shown at either the top of the page or the bottom of the page depending on yor preference.

SEO SERP This is a great tool for checking the ranking of a keyword. All you need to to is type in the keyword you want to check. You then choose the websites you want to see and check out how they are doing. This tool will also let you know what websites are the top ranking sites.

Goo.gl URL Shortener. With one click you can shorten those URL’s that are pages long. This has the added benefit of a feature that allows you to add the URLs to your history so you have them for later.

Chrome SEO. This is a basic tool, but necessary for anyone who manages SEO. It shows a daily count of backlinks, indexed pages, and traffic and rank. It also has a research tool for keywords, and will count social bookmarks.

Firefox started the web browser add on craze, and although Google Chrome is giving them a run for their money with their extensions, Firefox is still the leader. You can find add ons for almost anything you want or need including adding different functions to just changing the way your browser looks. These are added easily to your browser and change what the browser can do.

Over the past few years there have been many different add ons developed, but here are some of the best.

AdBlock Plus. This is one of the most popular add ons. It will allow you to browse the web without being bombarded with advertisements. It does a very good job of blocking the majority of the ads.

Aviary Talon. Although there are other ways to get a screen shot, this add on will allow you to instantly capture a shot of a page. You can then save to one of several places with just a click of a button.

Copy Plain Text. If you do a lot of copying and pasting this will come in handy. You can copy text without having any of the formatting come with it. There is no need to paste it into notepad and then copy it again to paste it where you really want it.

LastPass. This is a convenient way to manage your passwords. It allows you to log into websites easily without having to remember your individual passwords, and helps to protect your computer from malware and other phishing websites.

Morning Coffee. This is a great add on that stores different bookmarks so that certain ones open for you on the days you want them to. If there is a website you like to check regularly, but you know it only updates on Monday’s then you can set Morning Coffee to open it for you every Monday morning.

Personas. A fun add on for those who like to personalize their browser and make it their own. You can design the look of Firefox to suit your own taste.

The Internet can grant your business a huge boost, both in its total revenue and in its profit margins. However, this is only going to be the case if you learn how to use the Internet successfully for these purposes. While almost anybody can slap together a website, most websites have a large number of glaring issues with them. These are the kinds of issues that hinder their owners’ sales efforts terribly. If you are going to seriously use the Internet to grow your business into a profit powerhouse, you are going to need to master several key tools. While these tools are almost never very expensive, you will need to invest the time to actually learn how to use them properly.

For example, consider survey software and social media. If you combine these two pieces of the puzzle together, you can receive rapid feedback on what your best customers think of you and your site, who these same people actually are (and they might not be the people you think they are), and what they want that you have yet to provide for them. Then, you can actually move on this information immediately. Rebuilding a website from scratch is a relatively small operation (unlike altering the physical structure of a building). Once your presence on the social networking sites is strong, you can attract boat loads of people who want what you are offering.

If you only have time to learn two pieces of the internet puzzle, and really master them, learn about surveying your customers and about working effectively on the social media sites like Facebook. While it will initially be daunting and tantalizing to have 400 million potential customers, and only have a hundred thousand or so show up, that is still a reasonably good market to start out with. Remember that a lot of people who first encounter you on Facebook will inform you that they generally buy offline.

There is a huge war being fought by companies that develop internet browsers, but is it really worth it? As Google, Microsoft, and Modzilla continue to develop new and better versions of their web browsers, are they gaining new users with each new release?

Many users don’t even know what a browser is, let alone that they have a choice of what they can use, or that it could have an updated version. They turn on their computer everyday and click on the icon that brings them to the internet. Done. That is all they do to get to the internet. Many people have been clicking on that same icon for years without realizing that the technology behind it has changed significantly.

So, the challenge for companies like Google and Microsoft is to educate the public about their browsers and what is going on behind it. Each company has their own way of trying to get their users to update, but stopping support of older versions seems to be the most effective.

Firefox recently had their users complete a survey if they refused the offer to update their browser to find out why people didn’t want a new version. The majority of the people answered that they were just happy with what they had. For others, the response was just that they didn’t have time to update. This is good news though because the previous concern was the cost, and since the browser is free, the public needed to be educated.

Not only does updating your browser make your internet experience better, but it also keeps you safe. As the war continues between the browsers, so does the fight to get users to update to newer versions.

In the war of the web browsers, Mozilla’s entry with Firefox will most assuredly go down in history as a heavyweight. With great speed, easy customization and a myriad of ad on applications and tools, Firefox is a great way to manage your web interface.

Because there are so many different additional features to Firefox, choosing the right ones can be a heavy burden. This several part series will introduce readers to a couple useful tips, and a general review of some of the more useful and popular add ons and plugins for the Firefox web browser.

To begin with; if you don’t have Firefox it’s easy to get. Simple navigate to mozilla.com and click the download link for the latest version. From there it’s as easy as following some basic instructions to get the browser installed. You can also make sure during the installation that Firefox is the primary browser for your PC. That way, when you click on a web link in an email, Firefox will open the web page.

A few other things it is good to know about Firefox when getting started are the password and user name options and the theme setting feature. For the first one, whenever you type in a user name and password for a secure web site the first time, Firefox will ask if you want it to remember those keys for the next time you visit the sight. You can either tell it yes, no or ask again later. Remember, even if you have it store secret user names and passwords, you can always delete them back out later.

And, as far as themes go, that’s a whole separate story on it’s own. There are so many different options settings, looks and styles that it can be a day-long experience tweaking your browser to get it just right.

On the topic of themes for Mozilla’s Firefox web browser; there are a ton of them. Choosing the right one is about as complex as choosing what art to hang in the living room, assuming you can choose from nearly any piece of art, ever.

A theme is what your general background will look like while you are surfing the web. For the most part that’s just the top bar across the web browser application window, which shows the options, navigation buttons and address bar, search bar and tabs. So, if you choose a Hello Kitty theme, you are going to have a white cartoon cat peeping at you while you check your email.

There are several ways to manage your theme, but the most direct way is to click on Tools in the option menu at the top of the browser. Then choose Add-ons when the menu drops down.

Choosing that option will open a second window which is your ad on manager. At the top are the three basic types of add-ons for Firefox, along with a Get Add-on option. For now ignore everything but the Themes option, which has a painter’s pallet and paintbrush as an icon.

When you first click on themes the only thing available will be the default Firefox setting. However, near the bottom right of the window is a get themes option, which if clicked will lead the viewer to a web page within Mozilla.com which houses the sizable selection of various themes available.

This web site is pretty easy to navigate, with a helpful and quick search feature and some common sense categories listed along the right side of the page. And, it’s even easier to actually use. After checking out the various categories of persona’s and themes, simply click on the ‘wear it’ option, and the theme is instantly downloaded and activated.

Sure, surfing the web is a great way to kill the time, but who in the world wouldn’t want to be even more distracted as they checked email, chatted and shopped for the best deal on garage door openers?

To solve the problem of internet continuity the good folks at Mozilla have recommended a great add-on called SimilarWeb. This clever little application will ensure your brief stops on the internet turn into the marathon surfing sessions they should be.

SimilarWeb, designed by the development firm of the same name is a simple way to make sure that no matter what you are looking up or checking out you aren’t missing anything that might be remotely related.

Mozilla’s add-on management site promotes SimilarWeb as the hands-down most efficient way to browse on multiple layers at one time. Install the add-on and it will create a sidebar along the web browser while you surf.

As you navigate from page to page the sidebar will feature small photos of other pages and content which are in some robot-logic fashion related to whatever you are currently viewing.

But it doesn’t stop there. SimilarWeb will also conduct multi-layered searches of its own of the particular web page, and content you are currently checking out, and then will look for other news, gossip or content related to the current site.

So, if you are checking out reddit.com, you will have a few choices to the side which will bring you up to date on how many times reddit was mentioned on Facebook, which news agency is reporting on its success as a web site and who blogged about it earlier that morning.

In the end, SimilarWeb seems to be pretty good at what it does, which is take your browsing to an almost Inception-like experience. The question just remains; do you want to go deeper?

There may come a time when human civilization realizes there is a such thing as being ‘too connected’. The combined updates of Twitter and Facebook, however, are enough evidence to come to the conclusion that mankind is currently far from making that deduction.

A recently developed add-on for Mozilla’s Firefox web browser, for instance, is a perfect example of how as a species humans are constantly looking for more effective ways of staying ‘plugged in’.

WebMail Notifier is an add-on available through the Mozilla.com web site which will manage all of a person’s multiple email accounts and social networking accounts. This add-on will notify a person of incoming messages from any of those other sites, and it’s easy to use.

The quickest way to get it is to choose the Tools option along the top of the browser window. Then click the Add-ons option, which will open the add-on manager window. Click Get Add-ons and just underneath that enter WebMail Notifier into the search field.

From there it’s a simple matter of following instructions to get the feature up and running. The application supports Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Excite, and on and on. Just enter those addresses and passwords for your other accounts, and this thing will spend all day making sure you know when a new message has arrived.

And it doesn’t stop there. Just in case you were worrying about when your uncle Ted was going to finish mowing the lawn and turn on some M.A.S.H. reruns, this application can also let you know when his Facebook status changes.

One drawback to consider comes from a user review and points out that this application does not support email coming from POP3 or IMAP email accounts. That means certain work emails and other types of accounts coming from secure and non-public servers might not work right.

In this day of custom paint jobs and monogrammed lip rings why shouldn’t a web browser be as distinct as the person viewing it? If this problem has been vexing you ever since you thought up your penguin-themed browser, then worry no longer.

Mozilla’s Firefox web browser has the answer to your flightless bird dreams. Using a simple tool and a few online resources anyone can have their internet experience look exactly the way they want it to.

The first step is to create a file which will display correctly on the browser’s header bar. That’s the strip at the top of the browser window which starts out a simple gray when you first load Firefox.

If you don’t have a program like Adobe Photoshop loaded on your computer, that’s not a big deal. There are a couple of online resources which will allow you to start with a basic picture and create a file which will work for Firefox’s make-it-yourself persona feature. You can find a huge collection of images that can be used to create your persona using a P2P network like ares P2P.

SUMOPaint and Photoshop.com are two free online browser-based photo editing platforms which will let you open and manipulate a photo. Basically you need to either crop the image into a 3000 pixel wide by 200 pixel tall canvas. A simple way to do this is to open the photo, then create a new file the correct size. Copy the photo into the new canvas, and crop it to fit.

When you are saving the file, be sure to use JPG or PNG file extensions, and make sure the file is no bigger than 300k. Once you have the picture file the way you want it, go back to the Tools option and click Add-ons. From there, browse for new themes and when the web page opens look for the Create Your Own option near the top left of the window.

Finally, the penguins you wanted.

In a perfect world the internet would always be free, fast and void of spam, malware, spyware and the like. Things being the way they are, however, the internet is a potentially dangerous place.

You don’t want your computer wandering, unsuspecting through the untamed internet landscape, after all. It could catch a serious virus, or even worse, relinquish your vital data to some nefarious web bandit.

We take precautions to try and keep our various PCs, laptops, Macs and so on safe from the nasty things lurking in the web. We load it with anti-virus this and scan it for anti-malware that.

We know a few basic tips for staying safe we like to pass along. For instance we know the African prince who needs help getting his millions of dollars is a scam. We’ve even heard of Snopes.com which has proved useful when trying to weed through countless forwards and discerning fact from urban legend.

But did you realize sometimes the problem is your browser? It hardly makes sense that during these times of high competition between web browsers that any of them would fall in with the sorts of companies and individuals who (shudder) spam our in-boxes. And yet, that’s what can happen.

Take WeatherBug, for instance. When this neat little widget first showed up everyone and their mother had it blipping away the local weather in the corner of their desktop. It was, after all, pretty neat to get the current weather and a short forecast at a glance.

But things sort of fell apart when people starting realizing WeatherBug was a spyware distributor. And WeatherBug is a recommended Add-on at Mozilla.com, just going to show you can’t always trust a company to do the right or the smart thing. While it doesn’t make Firefox any less of a great browser, it’s important make sure you know what you are agreeing to when adding an add-on.

For a long time it didn’t really seem possible that smart phones would ever seriously compete with actual computers. There would still be a need and a reason to sit with a pc or at least a laptop and get some real work done.

For instance it hasn’t always been seamless or quick to load an attachment into an email. Also, the web pages sometimes didn’t look right and selecting click areas could often prove to be a pain on certain sites.

These complaints, however, are rapidly being answered by ever faster and more capable phones. In fact, it’s not really fair to call them phones anymore. We have to call them smart phones.

Admittedly, the things are pretty bright. Where one used to sort of lurch around a web page on a phone, you can now skate through the content with a finger tip, zooming in and out with simple pinching motions.

And if the features announced in the new Firefox 4 for Android phones are anything like what we can come to expect, then the day of mobile productivity has truly arrived.

Willing participants in the beta, which can be found in the Android Market by searching for “Mozilla Firefox” will discover this new browser literally integrating with their phone.

For instance it will add notification icons in the system bar along the top of the phone’s screen. It will also allow you to use the physical menu button along the bottom of the screen to access menu features within the browser.

Two of the neatest innovations are the Android keyboards and the File Picker system for uploading. The former adapts to what you are trying to do with the browser at that time by changing the enter button from either ‘go’ for url locations, or an hourglass ‘search’ button. The latter makes uploading and attaching files simple and quick.

Western Civilization, for all its glamor and splendor, is not a very responsible consumer. In America in particular we are quick to purchase and worry little for buyer’s remorse.

Our habits on the internet are really not very different from our spending habits. Studies show that a great deal of the working stiffs in America whittle away an hour or more a day while surfing around online.

Social networking takes a huge chunk out of each day and recently experts have tagged sites like Facebook as the most notorious places on the web to catch a virus. For some, however, viruses aren’t really even the issue.

Developers at Mozilla, for instance, have become increasingly anxious over the lax habits most internet surfers display toward internet privacy. Often without realizing it we are sharing loads of our personal information with advertisers and with law enforcement. Some sites share every detail, every update. Others keep a tight lid on their data and a strong majority are a mix.

And while the rules are often spelled out in black and white, they are also absurdly long and complex. Most of us click “I agree” without ever reading the first word. For that reason the Mozilla crew put together some easy-to-understand icons they are hoping will someday be mandatory for web pages.

The icons are four circles including simple representations of the internet user, advertisers represented as AD, and law enforcement officials.

The first circle represents web sites where your information is never shared with advertisers. The second symbol shows that your data will be shared with advertisers. A third represents sites where your information will not be shared with law enforcement unless due to proper legal process. The fourth and final symbol will issue a warning to visitors that these sites may give your data to law enforcement even without legal processes.

Since the beginning of time we can assume people have had to hide their goods away behind lock and key to prevent them from being stolen. For whatever reason there have always been people willing to take what is not theirs.

The same is still true today considering your personal computer. Our machines are under constant attack from the outside world. The assaults come in a variety of forms, using a myriad of methods and it can seem expensive and confusing to gain a little confidence.

Still, understanding your attackers and knowing a good defense doesn’t have to be either expensive or daunting. In fact, just taking two basic steps can relieve a lot of security pain.

The first step is related to ads on the internet. In this instance the thieves are after your demographic information. The advertisers want to know where you have been and what you have been looking at. Ads have a nasty way of leaving behind malware and spyware. Both of these nasty bugs can cause serious problems for your computer.

Adblock Plus is a free add-on available through mozilla.com. Just click Tools, Add-ons and search for ‘Adblock Plus’. Click on the big green ‘Add to Firefox’ button and the browser will do the rest. This feature will block incoming content from a massive list of ad sites, keeping you from ever seeing the banners or bouncing boxes.

Another good step to take is to deny all cookies by default. These little packets of information are where a great deal of trouble is passed along through the internet. Simple go to Tools, the click Options, and the Privacy. Make sure to Disallow all 3rd party cookies by default and Disallow all cookies by default.

The drawback is that now in order to log in anywhere you will have to make an exception for that website.

To begin with, it’s never completely secure to do anything online. It is a fair and general rule to always assume whatever is going out over the ether is subject to compromise.

The sad truth is that the more popular and easy it is to make payments online, the more those actions will become a target for thieves. Still, there are a few things you can do to protect yourself and feel some relative comfort making purchases online.

The worst and easiest mistake to make when making online payments is to use a debit card tied to a checking account. All that is needed for online fraud is right there for the taking during your transaction. Once your debit card information is compromised, it’s a simple step to drain your checking account, and any other account you might have as overdraft protection.

While many credit unions have policies protecting their members from online fraud, getting your money back might be complicated and time consuming. If you are absolutely in a hurry, it is marginally safer to use a credit card for online purchases. This is only slightly better because at least if money is taken it’s not directly out of checking and you have a little more time to deal with the problem.

The best step is to get a gift card for the amount of the purchase you are making and us that. Combing that with the Firefox add-on Request Policy, and you have made your online purchase about as secure as humanly possible. The add-on is available through the browsers menu and is a very effective method for making transactions more secure.

Basically once it is installed you will want to leave it off until the time comes to make the payment with your gift card. At that point turn it on to Full Address mode and you’ve done what you can.

Unfortunately there is money to be made by jamming bright, poorly done banners and quiz traps all over our favorite websites. This is evidences by the myriad of jumping, flashing and otherwise nauseating ads one can easily find by logging in to Facebook.

For those who just want to keep tabs on their friends and see what’s going on around them, and don’t want to find out if their IQ is higher than Rhianna’s, there is an answer.

If you are using Mozilla’s Firefox web browser the answer is as simple as Facebook Purity, touted as the Facebook Homepage Cleaner. This feature is installed the same as most other add-ons, by clicking Tools, then Add-ons. Search for F.B Purity and then click on the green button to install it.

Once the program is on your computer you can check to make sure it’s running right by refreshing your Facebook homepage. If it’s installed and running correctly there will be a new information bar just above the Top News and Most Recent options on your homepage. This little ticker will tell you how many application and extra messages have been hidden.

The ‘apps’ being hidden are the application messages. If you want to see them you just have to click show and they will displayed with a light red dotted line surrounding the text.

The extras being hidden are the messages about this friend becoming friends with that one, and this other person attending that one thing. Again, if this sort of thing is what you are looking for, you can have the add-on show those as well.

A final neat little thing F.B Purity offers is the ability to further customize your FB page. For instance if a certain font has always been too small you can now bump it up and if the layout has never seemed just right you can fiddle with that, too.

If you are a software programmer, you will face the dilemma whether you should offer a software download at zero cost, or whether you should charge money even though you are not a big name in the world of software yet. Many software programmers choose the former approach and offer a software download at zero cost, hoping that their efforts will encourage individuals and users to offer gratuitous payment.

However, this approach is not going to work if you rely on your programming skills for your daily meal. On the other hand, charging money from customers can work counter-productively in the long run because people would prefer purchasing software from a more reputable organization. You can make use of the following tips and techniques to improve visibility of your software without offering free software download.

For starters, try to make a few free mini-applications such as web browser add-ons for every premium program you put up for sale.

Second, implement search engine optimization strategies and tactics on your website to ensure that the right set of customers are targeted.

Third, focus on after-sales and service. Many programmers are very good when it comes to writing code properly. However, they can be bad at people skills and do not provide good quality after-sales support to customers.

Remember, each and every customer you have is an asset that can give you returns for the rest of your life. If you offer software that is licensed on an annual basis, make sure that the quality of service is high enough to bring them back year after year

Finally, you should keep an eye out for competition. You should always be on the look out to overcome competition with minimum effort and expenses. If you ignore this aspect, chances are high that customers may get pulled to some other service provider instead.

For those of us who are loyal for Mozilla’s Firefox web browser it is sometimes painful to learn of the decisions the company has been making of late. For instance when they recommended the add-on Weatherbug, a known malicious distributor of malware and spyware it seemed contradictory.

Firefox, after all, is the open source answer to big money’s Internet Explorer, right? We have slowly been taught that Microsoft is the ‘Man’ and he’s keeping us down. Well, apparently things are not always as they seem.

Take for instance Mozilla’s recent actions regarding a Do Not Track tool they were developing. This tool would effectively limit ad companies and other evil web prowlers from loading up our computers with cookies. They want these cookies on our PCs and Macs because they want to know where we have been on the internet and what we have been looking at.

Mozilla removed their Do Not Track tool from the browser being beta tested, presumably because the ad companies were worried something like that would hurt their profits. It turns out the traditional method of advertising on the web isn’t nearly as profitable as the subversive and invasive kind of advertising.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has recently announced they will be enhancing IE9 with a Do Not Track tool, for the explicit purpose of protecting web users. This sort of pro-populous decision counters what we’ve been taught to think about big business versus open source.

It turns out Microsoft actually has a division devoted to privacy strategy and it’s chief of that division believes there is a healthy balance to be maintained between consumer empowerment and privacy and the needs of the internet as a business. He said in a statement that tools like Do Not Track are important because they maintain the level of functionality internet users are used to and demand.

For those who were dismayed by Mozilla’s killing of the consumer protection Do Not Track tool, there is hope after all. It turns out the company did not kill the anti-tracking program because of pressure from online advertisers.

That was the story not long ago when Microsoft took great pains to point out that they were still developing a Do Not Track tool to combat the onslaught of spyware and malware designed at monitoring consumer internet activity.

And don’t be mistaken; that’s where the big money is. It turns out that traditional, honest advertising on the internet isn’t all that reliable. Companies can’t rely on banner and box advertisements to bring in good money.

They can, however, go after the private and hidden information on our computers. They want to know where we are going, what we are looking at and what we are purchasing online. They can find all that out by jamming cookies on to our machines and watching the data roll in.

Do Not Track tools are programs designed to eliminate this sort of thievery. That’s why it was such a blow to Mozilla fans when they scrapped their anti-tracking program part of the way through beta testing the newest version of Firefox.

It is also why it’s good to know the real reason why Mozilla backed away from the project. Officials from Mozilla are now reporting the real reason they stopped development was because they were beginning to worry the tool would inspire ad companies to use even more devious methods to get what they want.

One way or the other consumers can expect this issue to come to some sort of resolution as the lawmakers in Washington start to pay attention. The word is a House subcommittee dedicated to consumer protection is vetting this very topic of Do Not Track tools right now.

Internet security is a new and ever-evolving field where the consumer can ultimately be left with a feeling of inept vulnerability. It seems no matter what precautions one can take there are always another series of new, evil and inventive methods whereby once can lose their vital information, security or data.

It doesn’t help when the places we are taught to look for ‘safe’ and ‘secure’ transactions are as suspect as the dodgiest of backwater internet sites. It can be disheartening to learn that PayPall and other presumably secure sites lose secure information to attacks on a regular basis. Yet the reality is whenever a consumer puts anything in the internet there is always a chance it will be compromised.

And again, the same can even be true for sites we are supposed to be able to trust. Even Mozilla, the maker of the Firefox web browser has been known to make a bungle when it comes to protecting their consumers. Take as a case in point the recommended add-on Weatherbug. Mozilla lists it right along with the rest of the easily accessible and quickly down loadable add-ons. And it’s a nifty little big, except for the problem that it’s loaded with spyware.

So how does one know what to do and who to trust? It turns out the internet user’s greatest resources is other internet users. Conveniently listed in the user’s reviews of the Weatherbug add-on just below where Mozilla places a giant download button is the truth about this nefarious widget.

In fact, more than one user has taken the time to not only report the truth about the Weatherbug add-on, they even admonish Mozilla for blindly recommending something so counter-consumer.

Do not blindly trust any add-on. Only trust applications and add-ons that are highly rated and have good user reviews. Also you should be very careful in transferring files through FTP clients. It is recommended to use FTP clients like FileZilla FTP that is known to provide greater security to its users.

When talking about add-ons, you can trust add-ons that are highly rated and recommended by the users. Like, you can trust Openoffice.org Menu that lets you to get connected with the Open Office community, because the add-on has good user reviews and rating.

In the end the best thing to do when you don’t know is ask questions. Go to forums dedicated to whatever your question is relate to (there is bound to be one) and ask.

It’s important to immediately consider this simple truth right now; there is no such thing as totally secure on the internet. The reality is that no matter how many precautions you take, if you put something out there on the internet you don’t want anyone to attribute to you, there is the very real chance it can still be tracked back to you.

Just assume that whatever goes out can inevitably come back in. Given the right circumstances and the right person with the right set of skills and most seemingly secure transactions become suspect.

That said, there are some precautions one can take to try and be more secure, more safe. One must use secure FileZilla Server for secure file transfers from one computer to the other. Most people know they can block cookies, install Adblocker and avoid suspicious emails and websites.

Still others will be using a browser with a privacy feature which they will turn on whenever they want to remain anonymous on the web. As it turns out, however, even this feature refuted as a good safeguard has its limits.

Private browsing is essentially a step where cookies are denied access on to your machine. Those little packets of information which track where you have been and what you have been doing on the internet are a major source of malicious code and programming. Private browsing was designed a method to stop those cookies from tracking your activity while it is turned on.

Still, if you aren’t using the Firefox extension Anonymizer Nevercookie they you are not doing enough to stay secure and anonymous on the web. Also, you can keep your system secure by sharing files through secure P2P networks. If you are looking for a secure P2P program that is 100% clean then you can download ares. This feature will also deny access to the Flash storage site in your computer which has also been tracking what you are up to and can be accessible to the right people.

The extension will also create a second, clean and isolated web browser window for your private browsing, which will get you at least a little closer to being secure.

Google, with its release of Google Chrome, has created a fast, user friendly platform for searching on the web. The program is free to download, and has all the features you need to get going. You can also download the Google toolbar, which allows you to access the search engine directly from the top of your computer. This search engine also has excellent speed, good security and a variety of other features that you can pick from. The browser gives you peace of mind, and has very little issue with security problems from the internet.

For those that love applications, Google Chrome is full of them. You can get Google Books, which has access to a number of samples and complete books that have been scanned for digital viewing. You can even get constant news updates scrolling on your screen, comics, Google maps and a web messenger. There are even games that you can download and play, such as golf, chess and solitaire. Most of the applications are free, but you should be aware that some of them do require a fee to download. There is also Weather Window, which gives you weather updates as necessary. They offer great variety for the user.

There are also extensions available for sports, web development, shopping and blogging. This is great for those who love to communicate and get the latest news from all over. One helpful aspect are the tutorial videos that are available to help you through downloading and using the features. This is helpful for the person who is not as experienced with the web. Google Chrome can at times be incompatible with certain websites, require a download in order to get the necessary add on to help run it. This is rare, though, and Chrome is well worth a cruise.

Firefox has become a popular browser in the mainstream, with schools and other organizations as the standard to be used for the internet. One of the primary reasons for this is its excellent built in security features, which help to filter out websites that are potential threats. The browser also offers excellent speed when searching on a particular topic. The search results are simple to scan through and are highly relevant to whatever keywords are put into it.

One of fun features of Firefox is the ability to add your own “theme” to your browser. This is an image that runs in a strip along the top of the page and across the bottom. Users can create their own style using the application on the start up page, or they can pick from one of thousands that others have designed. There are also characters and actors featured from your favorite movie, and you can change the theme whenever you like.

Firefox does have some issues with certain websites, requiring you to download an add on in order to applications. This can be problematic, and you may have to switch into another browser for trouble free work. These problems are not common, though, and Firefox is worth downloading for its excellent protection features. Schools like this browser as it decreases the chance of someone opening up a harmful site that could put a virus into the system. This makes it a versatile and safe tool to use.

The browser also has several add ons that you can download. If you are a Twitter fan, you can get Echofon, which notifies you if someone you know tweets something interesting. There is also an Amazon add on that allows you to shop at the click of a mouse. Firefox has thousands more that you can pick from, depending on your interests.

Internet Explorer is the standard browser that most people are familiar with, and has been around for a long time. Run by Microsoft, they have recently released Explorer Beta 9, which is still in its running stage and may have some bugs left to be worked out. They are promising a streamlined appearance, more efficient access to tools in the menu bar and easier access to your favorites. Users need to weigh their advantages when choosing to go ahead and download 9, especially as to whether or not they are willing to deal with multiple errors that could occur with its use now.

Those who do not want to contend with bugs can stick with Explorer 8, which is supposed to provide you with an easier time surfing the net. Explorer does perform well overall, but there are some concerns with several users as to its security features. At times, Explorer does not always filter out sites that could pose a threat if opened. It is also problematic for freezing up and having issues opening somne websites. You often have to restart it and find your way back to where you were. This is where Firefox has the advantage of being able to reopen where you left off.

There are various acceletors that give you quick entrance to maps, blogging, checking your email and doing web searches. For those who visit certain sites on a regular basis, you can subscribe to various types of content that is delivered to you instantly. These can include the latest sports news and scores, headlines, weather conditions and shopping opportunities. This can be a great time saver for those on a tight schedule. Microsoft also provides tutorial videos for those who need some extra help in using the browser. Explorer is an all around good browser, depending on your use of the internet.

The web browser war has heated up as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome fight to become the dominant default browser for computer users. Microsoft flexes its considerable market muscle with Explorer, but has had strong contention from the other two giants. Firefox has made a strong showing with many users for its excellent security features and search speed, but Google is also making a splash with its mutiple features and speed as well. Choosing which one you will use depends heavily on how you use the internet.

For the average user, Explorer is generally the norm and if found already installed on almost every computer on the market. It is an all around basic, good browser for general surfing and email, but can be an issue with some websites. It also is not the most secure browser to use at times, but does offer a number of good features. Mozilla Firefox is coming to be preferred by many for its security and speed. It can easily be downloaded from online for free, and is updated automatically by the server. It is better for those working at a school or other business where security needs to be a bit tighter.

For those who are active and social on the web, Google Chrome is an excellent choice. You can have instant access to blogging, and Google recently released the ability to make phone calls over the internet. It was an instant hit the first week it ran. Researchers may also prefer Google Chrome, as it offers numerous ways to organize hits into more digestable chunks, such as creating a timeline of events. This can be adventageous when dealing with a broad topic.

Each one has benefits and advantages that the user should weigh before making a final decision. You can also choose to take advantage of all three, depending on what you are doing online.

Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the three primary choices that you have to search and experience the internet with. When selecting them, you need to consider the best one for you and your needs. One caution when choosing to download a browser, you may see that one is offering the latest version for you to get. If the browser has the word “beta” after it, be wary. It can be cool to have the latest thing out, but know that the beta means that the browser is still partially in development. This means that you may have no problems, or you could experience issues during use. If you are unwilling to deal with these problems, then you should stick with the prior version until the new one is ready to go.

You will find Explorer as the standard installed on your computer, as almost all have Microsoft Windows on them. If this is the case, you have a basic, ready browser that is good for general web searches and functions. But you will not have the greater security that comes from Firefox, which you have to download from the internet. Firefox is generally faster, safer and more popular with many interent surfers. You can also add your own personal theme to it as well, plus a number of various add ons.

If you are a more advanced user, you may want to consider Google Chrome, which has instant access to a number of useful functions. These include Google books, blogger, scholar search and many more. You can also install a Google search tab on your menu bar, making for more efficient surfing. Chrome has good security and speed, making it viable option. The important thing is to consider what functions you use the most and what would benefit you while surfing and working.
