Google, with its release of Google Chrome, has created a fast, user friendly platform for searching on the web. The program is free to download, and has all the features you need to get going. You can also download the Google toolbar, which allows you to access the search engine directly from the top of your computer. This search engine also has excellent speed, good security and a variety of other features that you can pick from. The browser gives you peace of mind, and has very little issue with security problems from the internet.

For those that love applications, Google Chrome is full of them. You can get Google Books, which has access to a number of samples and complete books that have been scanned for digital viewing. You can even get constant news updates scrolling on your screen, comics, Google maps and a web messenger. There are even games that you can download and play, such as golf, chess and solitaire. They offer great variety for the user.

There are also extensions available for sports, web development, shopping and blogging. This is great for those who love to communicate and get the latest news from all over. One helpful aspect are the tutorial videos that are available to help you through downloading and using the features. This is helpful for the person who is not as experienced with the web. Google Chrome can at times be incompatible with certain websites, require a download in order to get the necessary add on to help run it. This is rare, though, and Chrome is well worth a cruise.

Firefox has become a popular browser in the mainstream, with schools and other organizations as the standard to be used for the internet. One of the primary reasons for this is its excellent built in security features, which help to filter out websites that are potential threats. The browser also offers excellent speed when searching on a particular topic. The search results are simple to scan through and are highly relevant to whatever keywords are put into it.

One of fun features of Firefox is the ability to add your own “theme” to your browser. This is an image that runs in a strip along the top of the page and across the bottom. These problems are not common, though, and Firefox is worth downloading for its excellent protection features. Schools like this browser as it decreases the chance of someone opening up a harmful site that could put a virus into the system. This makes it a versatile and safe tool to use.

The browser also has several add ons that you can download. If you are a Twitter fan, you can get Echofon, which notifies you if someone you know tweets something interesting. There is also an Amazon add on that allows you to shop at the click of a mouse. Firefox has thousands more that you can pick from, depending on your interests.

The Benefits and Advantages of Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer is the standard browser that most people are familiar with, and has been around for a long time. Run by Microsoft, they have recently released Explorer Beta 9, which is still in its running stage and may have some bugs left to be worked out. They are promising a streamlined appearance, more efficient access to tools in the menu bar and easier access to your favorites. Users need to weigh their advantages when choosing to go ahead and download 9, especially as to whether or not they are willing to deal with multiple errors that could occur with its use now.

Those who do not want to contend with bugs can stick with Explorer 8, which is supposed to provide you with an easier time surfing the net. Explorer does perform well overall, but there are some concerns with several users as to its security features. At times, Explorer does not always filter out sites that could pose a threat if opened. It is also problematic for freezing up and having issues opening somne websites. You often have to restart it and find your way back to where you were. This is where Firefox has the advantage of being able to reopen where you left off.

For those who visit certain sites on a regular basis, you can subscribe to various types of content that is delivered to you instantly. These can include the latest sports news and scores, headlines, weather conditions and shopping opportunities. This can be a great time saver for those on a tight schedule. Microsoft also provides tutorial videos for those who need some extra help in using the browser. Explorer is an all around good browser, depending on your use of the internet.

Sifting Through the Web Browser War

The web browser war has heated up as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome fight to become the dominant default browser for computer users. Microsoft flexes its considerable market muscle with Explorer, but has had strong contention from the other two giants. Firefox has made a strong showing with many users for its excellent security features and search speed, but Google is also making a splash with its mutiple features and speed as well. Choosing which one you will use depends heavily on how you use the internet.

For the average user, Explorer is generally the norm and if found already installed on almost every computer on the market. It is an all around basic, good browser for general surfing and email, but can be an issue with some websites. It also is not the most secure browser to use at times, but does offer a number of good features. Mozilla Firefox is coming to be preferred by many for its security and speed. It can easily be downloaded from online for free, and is updated automatically by the server. It is better for those working at a school or other business where security needs to be a bit tighter.

For those who are active and social on the web, Google Chrome is an excellent choice. You can have instant access to blogging, and Google recently released the ability to make phone calls over the internet. It was an instant hit the first week it ran. Researchers may also prefer Google Chrome, as it offers numerous ways to organize hits into more digestable chunks, such as creating a timeline of events. This can be adventageous when dealing with a broad topic.

Each one has benefits and advantages that the user should weigh before making a final decision. You can also choose to take advantage of all three, depending on what you are doing online.

Finding the Right Web Browser

Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the three primary choices that you have to search and experience the internet with. When selecting them, you need to consider the best one for you and your needs. One caution when choosing to download a browser, you may see that one is offering the latest version for you to get. If the browser has the word “beta” after it, be wary. It can be cool to have the latest thing out, but know that the beta means that the browser is still partially in development. This means that you may have no problems, or you could experience issues during use. If you are unwilling to deal with these problems, then you should stick with the prior version until the new one is ready to go.

You will find Explorer as the standard installed on your computer, as almost all have Microsoft Windows on them. If this is the case, you have a basic, ready browser that is good for general web searches and functions. But you will not have the greater security that comes from Firefox, which you have to download from the internet. Firefox is generally faster, safer and more popular with many interent surfers. You can also add your own personal theme to it as well, plus a number of various add ons.

If you are a more advanced user, you may want to consider Google Chrome, which has instant access to a number of useful functions. These include Google books, blogger, scholar search and many more. You can also install a Google search tab on your menu bar, making for more efficient surfing. Chrome has good security and speed, making it viable option. The important thing is to consider what functions you use the most and what would benefit you while surfing and working.
